So you want to stop feeling broke. That’s an admirable thing! Now, what is the #1 thing that will always keep you broke in your wallet and feeling broke in your mindset? It’s pretty simple. If you want to stop being broke once and for all, you need to avoid doing something that always keeps people stuck, both on paper and in their minds.

The number one thing that keeps you broke is AVOIDANCE.

To stop feeling broke, you need to avoid AVOIDANCE itself when it comes to your money! Here’s what I mean by that…

Avoidance means to avoid a discomfort or pain. This could work in a normal circumstance where if you touch the hot burner on a stove you’ll remember the pain and probably won’t do it again.

BUT, avoidance behaviors happen in your wealth journey, too. And unfortunately, avoidance when dealing with money doesn’t stop you from making the same mistakes. In fact, it keeps you stuck.

Why? Because money is energy.

Energy needs to flow. And the spaces where you are avoiding something will block that flow.

So before we get into the action items, think about what areas you may be avoiding in your money journey.

How to stop feeling broke
How to stop being broke: first, stop avoiding your money! Look at it as much as you can, and let go of the heavy emotions surrounding it.

For me, when I started my money mindset journey 3 years ago I avoided checking my bank account. I thought I was avoiding pain of seeing a balance I didn’t like. But all I was doing it allowing the pain to last longer by pretending that it didn’t exist.

So what might you be avoiding in your journey?

Here are some common ways we all avoid money issues:

  • Avoiding talking about money
  • Avoiding asking for a raise at work
  • Resisting Creating a budget
  • Not setting a bigger income goal
  • Hiding from debt collectors

Any of these sound familiar? You’re in good company there!

Now the next step is to figure out the feelings that drive the action. Guilt, shame, fear, etc. What feelings are you avoiding when you decide not to deal with your finances? Then, once you know how you don’t want to feel, replace those feelings with the ones that you DO want to feel.

These are the feelings you’ll be working on building up during your journey to wealth!

I talk all about how avoidance keeps you broke right here: ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️

So to stop feeling broke, the first thing to do is to stop avoiding your money. Take a look at it, and see what comes up. Look at your finances without fear as much as possible, and when those emotions come up, listen to them. Let them tell you what they have to tell you, and take action to heal them.
