Are you ready to build wealth in the new year? Now is the perfect time to start thinking about your plans to expand your wealth, attract more money, and move toward the financial freedom you desire for your business.

One thing I love about this time of year is that it’s my favorite time to plan ahead. It’s the time of year where I grab my pen and paper to create a vision for what’s next. I’ve done this every year, and I recommend it to all my clients too. That’s because we all owe your future success to the planning and action-taking we do TODAY.

If building wealth and making more money in your business are on your “to do” list for the new year, I’ve got 6 tips to help you make this happen!

Grab yourself a pen and paper and let’s get started with your plan to build wealth this year!

Step 1: Reflect on the past year

Take some time to reflect on the past year, and write down the answers to these questions and prompts.

  • Wins and challenges: What worked well this year in your business? What didn’t?
  • Cash Flow review: What did you prioritize this year based on your spending? Can you identify any ROIs (return on investments) or ROEs (return on energy)? Based on your answers, how would you spend your time and energy differently (or the same)?
  • Customer insights: Gather feedback from the clients you served this year. Then, adjust your offerings based on their needs. For example, in prior years I’ve sent annual surveys to my clients so I can better serve them. The last two years I’ve skipped this step, and I can see how this has negatively impacted my business. So take the time to get feedback from your current clients to better serve them going forward.

Step 2: A Financial Clean-Up

Go through these steps to ensure that your finances are as organized as possible. Here are my top 3 items to address:

  • Bookkeeping: Ensure QuickBooks is updated, categorized, and reconciled.
  • Tax Prep: Confirm that deductible expenses are logged. Also, prepare for tax filings by ensuring that any necessary documents are saved in advance. Organization is a key to success!
  • Cash Flow Analysis: Review your cash inflows and outflows. Eliminate unnecessary expenses as necessary.

Step 3. Set your goals for the new year

Now, it’s time to set your goals and map them out. Start with these 3 steps:

  • Income: Reaffirm or set your income goals for the new year.
  • Map your plan on a calendar: Plan your launches, marketing plan, travel, events, etc. This way you can see the full plan at a glance, and adjust as necessary.
  • Revenue Projections: Break your income goal down into monthly, quarterly, or “by launch” targets.

Step 4. Streamline Your Business Operations

Here is where we make a plan to make your day-to-day operations flow smoothly and efficiently. Look at these 3 areas to make that happen:

  • Automate and Outsource: Delegate or automate admin tasks to help you save time.
  • Optimize Systems: Audit your sales funnel to improve conversion rates. I like to track the conversion and open rates for my newsletters and blogs in ONE place. This helps me see the most popular content and if there is any seasonality to it.
  • Diversify Income: Expand into evergreen courses, digital products, affiliate programs, partnerships, investments, etc. Adding passive (or different) revenue streams is a great way to bring in wealth more quickly.

Step 5. Marketing Momentum

Now, on to your marketing plan! Here are 3 ways to make the most of your content plan:

  • Content Reuse: Repurpose your 2024 content into bite-sized pieces.
  • Engagement Plan: Set up a posting schedule to stay visible without burnout (which can happen so easily on Social Media if you’re like me!).
  • Collaborations: Partner with aligned brands or coaches to broaden reach. If you don’t have any partnerships lined up for the new year, make a list of potential collaborators to reach out to.

Step 6. Self-Care & Vision Alignment (don’t skip this step!)

This can be one a lot of us overlook, but I urge you not to! Remember that you are the most valuable asset in your business, so make sure you’re taking care of yourself. Here are 3 things to help make that happen. Put each of these on the calendar so you’ll be sure to include them!

  • Burnout Prevention: align your schedule to the number of hours you work want to work each week versus the number of hours in your current work week. Then adjust one or the other for optimal productivity and also burnout prevention.
  • Vision Board: Create vision board for the new year to stay inspired and focused. You can either make an “IRL” board, or a digital one (I like to use Pinterest!)
  • Celebrate Progress: Treat yourself for how far you’ve come, and celebrate ALL the wins as they happen.

There you have it! Use these steps at the beginning of the year, and revisit them throughout the year to check in with your progress. It’s the perfect way to continue your plans to build wealth and make more money in your business this year.

Which one of these 6 wealth building steps are you going to use first? I’d love to know! Leave me a comment and let me know!

Until next time,

Love, light, and MONEY, Honey…
